Tim Caldwell, Assistant Tennis Professional
Tim has been playing tennis at Nashboro since 1992. He began coaching here in 1999 while he returned to graduate school. Tim had a late start with tennis, not picking up a racquet until he was a teenager, and he had his first tennis lesson at age 17. He played through high school and continued to play local and state tournaments into college and beyond.
Tim's aggressive all court/ serve and volley style lends itself well to the doubles game. Over the years Tim has appeared in the state rankings in doubles, mixed doubles and singles. During 2000 and 2001, Tim was the assistant Coach for MTSU Women's Tennis Team. Following the completion of his Master's degree, he returned to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, The Psychiatric Hospital, where he works as an Assessment Specialist.
A self-described "...late bloomer, on and off the court...," Tim recently married for the first time. He and his tennis playing wife, Carol MacPherson, hope to produce a little tennis player in the not so distant future. Tim enjoys coaching and continues to work with several junior and adult players. His hobbies include sport psychology, art, reading and movies.
